Everything you need to know

Doncaster Mini Jamboree will take place from Friday 12 June to Sunday 14 June 2026 at Squirrel Wood.

Exact arrival times will be shared closer to the event.

Arrival time for young people is from 6:00pm to allow our volunteer team to arrive & prepare for full arrivals.

The event closes on Sunday afternoon after the Scout Skills Challenge and the final ceremony.

We expect departures to begin from 2pm.

Groups will be responsible for their own catering.

You should plan to provide meals from Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime, including snacks and drinks for your section.

No. Food is not included in the event fee and groups will cook for themselves.

Squirrel Wood is a large site with woodland, open fields and activity spaces.

There is plenty of room for groups of all sizes.

Camping pitches will be allocated based on group sizes.

Groups will camp together within allocated areas.

We want leaders to stay with the young people they know and support.

There will be ‘over-arching’ sub camp themes to help create a fun atmosphere.

Groups will need to bring:

  • Tents

  • Cooking equipment

  • Gas and fuel

  • Tables and shelters

  • Section kit

  • Personal kit for each young person

A full kit list will be published closer to the event.

No. There are no electric hook ups for groups.

A limited number of sockets may be available for medical or essential use. Contact us before the event if you need access.

Squirrel Wood does not provide fridges for group use.

Groups should plan to bring cool boxes and manage food safely on site.

Yes. All groups attending must complete a NAN form as part of standard Scout guidance.

Groups should follow normal Scout ratios for their section:

  • Squirrels: 1 adult per 4 young people

  • Beavers: 1 adult per 6 young people

  • Cubs: 1 adult per 8 young people

  • Scouts: 1 adult per 12 young people

If you have young people with additional needs, you may need more adults to support them properly.
